The Woodlands Republican Women (TWRW) club began in 1987. The club originally was called Pathfinders. It began under the leadership of Rikki Teal when 12 women began meeting in members' homes. The objective in forming the club was to promote the Republican Party by encouraging Republicans to vote and run for office. Over time, membership increased and meetings were held monthly in the evening at The Forum at The Woodlands in Panther Creek.
The club changed its name to The Woodlands Republican Women in 2000 to better represent the club’s purpose. The club continued to meet in the evening at the Forum until 2009 when the TWRW board decided to move monthly meetings to a daytime luncheon. In September 2009, the club held its first luncheon meeting at Landry’s Seafood House. In September 2022, due to the need for a larger meeting space, TWRW began holding its luncheons on the third Tuesday of the month at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course.
Today, the club continues to grow with many enthusiastic and dedicated women under the leadership of the current
president, Jessica Steinmann. With the objective of keeping Montgomery County and Texas“RED," TWRW actively promotes Republican ideals while supporting Republican elected officials and candidates for office. Club members also serve as Republican Party precinct chairs as well as election judges and clerks in local elections.
